I'm using BindCommands in 1.21.5 and if I set open command to key H I'm unable to open it. When I disable BindCommands it works again.
These are my BindCommands: key.keyboard.left.alt="/equipment"
key.keyboard.p="/pet"
key.keyboard.r="/wardrobe"(edited)
12:56 I don't see any reason why it should interfere at all!
I ImScheinox 13:07
reinstalled the whole mod and it worked again: Update it occured again so I'm still clueless(edited)

What is "Open Command"?
16:47 I would like to know what you are trying to achieve. Setting "Open Command" to H should send a chat message with that content when H is pressed.
I K kalucky0 Team 17:07
I don't understand
I K kalucky0 Team 17:08
This makes sense
17:08 I thought I already fixed that
I ImScheinox 17:10
but its only when I set it to H, if I set it to V for example its working. but I have it on H for 6+ years and would like to keep it that way xD
K kalucky0 Team 17:11
The weird thing is that BindCommands doesn't touch the vanilla bindings code at all
I ImScheinox 17:12
if I remove the mod its working again
17:12 so I thought it conflicts with the mod
K kalucky0 Team 17:12
it probably does because it's not the first time this is reported
17:13 do you have any other mods?
I K kalucky0 Team 17:14
let me try to build a 1.7.0 version for 1.21.5
I ImScheinox 17:15
bec I haven't found another 1.21.5 fabric mod that let me do the same
K kalucky0 Team 17:17
try this
jar fabric-bind-cmd-1.7.0-1.21.5.jar Java archive, 56 KB. Not stored in the archive.
I K kalucky0 Team 17:18
In 1.7.0 I rewritten almost the whole mod so maybe whatever was causing the issue was removed
I ImScheinox 17:23
game is starting
17:28 hm okay youre not gonna like it
17:28 on the first try it worked fine but I made a game restart to see if its consistent(edited)
17:28 but it wasn't working after the restart
I K kalucky0 Team 20:31
I'll try to reproduce this tomorrow
20:31 That's such a hard to catch bug
20:31 I have no idea what could be causing that
K kalucky0 Team 20:49
If you can try to list step by step what you did and what happened so that I can try to do the same
20:49 Time to do some detective work
I ImScheinox 22:27
Sure 1: install the mod launch the game. Set open command to H in the vanilla mc control settings. open bindcommands config, delete the h for /help and set some custom commands. quit the game and 2. restart the game, boom isn't working anymore
19 June 2025 K 14:42 I think I know what the problem is(edited)
I ImScheinox 14:54
a problem on my side or mod problem?
K 15:05 I think when you remove a binding it overrides the vanilla one too(edited)
K kalucky0 Team 15:14
I need to analyze how Minecraft handles input
K kalucky0 Team 15:46
I think I fixed the issue
15:49 @ImScheinox try this
jar fabric-bind-cmd-1.7.1-rc.1-1.21.5.jar Java archive, 56 KB. Not stored in the archive.
15:50 You'll need to add a command under "H" and then remove it
15:50 This should remove the binding
15:51 And unlock the "H" key for the "Open Command" binding
I ImScheinox 15:51
thanks, I will try it soon
1 K I ImScheinox 16:14
okay I tested it
16:14 but you have to do it still after every game restart
I K kalucky0 Team 16:17
It should work like this:
- There is a "ghost" keybind from the mod
- You add a new keybind with the ghost key
- You remove it - This removes it permanently from Minecraft settings
16:18 You might need to reassign H to the vanilla binding I'm not sure
I ImScheinox 16:22
I still only get it to work if I add and remove it every time I start the game hm
16:22 I could stream it to you
K kalucky0 Team 16:24
That won't be neccessary I have the same behaviour
16:29 I guess I need to call some function that will save these changes
I ImScheinox 16:37
its a pretty rare/unique bug tbh, so idk if a fix is needed, but I would appreciate it. I found another mod that works for me but it has a worse UI
16:37 So I would like to keep your version
K kalucky0 Team 16:49
Can you share your options.txt?(edited)
I ImScheinox 16:53
txt options.txt Text file, 7 KB. Not stored in the archive.
K I K kalucky0 Team 17:02
You might be one of the only people who had this exact problem, because H is the default "example command" it's being registered every time the mod is ran, even after you remove it
I K kalucky0 Team 17:05
try this
jar fabric-bind-cmd-1.7.1-rc.2-1.21.5.jar Java archive, 56 KB. Not stored in the archive.
I ImScheinox 17:08
that version works
17:09 thank you very much 🙂
K 17:10 Time to publish an update
I ImScheinox 17:13
I'm used to finding bugs and try to replicate it xD
