but also where do i find the dev build

To get the latest dev build, go to our GitHub page, and to the Actions tab

Click on the first action with the 1.17 tag and a green check mark.

It should bring you to a page

At the bottom of that page, click on "artifacts"

(You need to be signed in to GitHub to do this)

Then download the artifacts

It should be a zip containing a bunch of jar files

The jar you want is the one that doesn't say _dev or anything
