- D
- J12:37or you can storage 4 chests
- AAs far as I know this is a port so... yes? Not sure if we are going further than that, tho kal did mention adding coarse aether dirt so 🤔12:37A flying mount does sound pretty baller tho
- J12:38yeah this is a port, but that doesn't mean that extra little quality of life content can't be added

- D13:29Like end portal?
- A13:30Also, I am popping out some examples of mixin from some of my mods
- D
- A13:30UD is probably the end portal in that case13:31As it does not need to really change orientation, nether does as you can build it two ways13:31Ah yes, here13:31Very simple lil' mixin https://github.com/Dragonoidzero/Pulse-Flux-MH/blob/master/src/main/java/net/azzy/pulseflux/mixin/BucketFluidAccessor.java

- D19:12I'm trying to make "igniting" from the bottom block possible

- D19:35not Aether II or whatever else there is
- V
- A19:36Uh, an issue I see with the aether is that there is kind of a lack of building blocks. The dimension really doesn't give you much, with probably the most egregious example being woods19:38I had been thinking about this for a bit but it may be a good idea to add some more wood kinds, giving crystal trees and golden oaks their own wood would be minor, swift, and it would be an assured improvement

- V19:39a legacy module(edited)
- A
- V
- Ahm, that is not a bad idea. But even then I would rather it be an official addon or
dlcsmth19:40Modules are a pain - V19:41a calssic mode option perhaps
- A

- V
- D19:42Developing with 0-1 FPS mc is real pain
- A19:42Go learn java and fabric and make an addon yourself
- V
- D
- A19:43But yeah, if you want big additions you are probably better off making an addon yourself, it ain't that hard

- D19:54they finally work
- A19:55Push so I can look at the code, cry a little, and then rewrite it

- D19:59What armor types are in The Aether?
- A
- D
- A20:02kal what are you doing
- D
- A20:03very large
- D

- D
- A
- D20:07Fix it then
- A
- D
- A
- D
- A
- D20:12Why not use it
- C
- A20:13I meant that there is an implication there that you didn't read the fabric docs thoroughly before starting on this which would be greatly :concern:
- D
- A
- CTbf, working on the Aether just requires some level of knowing what your doing and in my case working with years old Kino-era code And knowlege is gained either from reading docs, or learning from others and their mistakes most of the time...or trying to lone-wolf it and self-teach yourself works sometimes too(edited)

- CAh. I was gonna say if so, technically, you can yeet Kino's code on the dimension and biomes temporarily, then combining your code with that of the already existing item and block code, you can trim down a lot of the work so far.20:19Also I might add that the new textures DO look pretty nice xD
- A20:21...should I ask why the portal block has an inv model when you should never be able to get it in there in the first place?
- D
- A
- D
- A
- D
- A
- D20:24nope, i'm just stupid

- CBut here's the list of what was working in Kino's code:
I'm likely missing stuff in this list, though also afaik Aether II added capability for farming in the Aether so technically it can be backported as a new legacy feature since your acting as a "fork" sort to speak for this project assumedly.(edited)- Blocks and Item logic and mechanics working, except for the portal data which can be replaced by kalucky's version (Likely more optimized) - The Api module is complete, since not much really breaks that. In the GOTV branch, there is a merged api module I built that integrated both I and II's api together, since I had the intent of a project built to support both Legacy and Aether II addons - Advancements are working, afaik - Dimensions, Biomes, Feature generation needing revisions from 1.16.x destroying the remanants of Kinos code. Need revisions under any circumstance - Mixins are 90% working, besides the data for the prior point - Json metadata *should* be ok, though likely has minor syntax issues in it, since despite them working, MC threw warnings when last used - A
- C
- AI am all up for adding stuff to the aehter to make it nicer (not easier) to live in. It is a fun place to explore but kind of bland and sucky to base in, nothing much to do or build with20:28It would probably be more fitting of an addon as previously stated tho20:29Something interesting to think about: The aether was made to be a proper, contrasting dimension to the nether
- C
- A
- D
- C
- ABut with the nether update now being a thing it has been kind of left behind, the nether is now so much more rich in content than the aether no longer really fits as a worthy opposite20:31It could certainly use a dusting to match up to the new age, which is why I am doing shfamcy textures
- C
- D
- A
- CPlus, it would also show Gilded missed a great oppertunity for this, as they steered away from 1.13+ and Fabric due to them seeing it then as unstable and lacking what they needed for it20:32A Stable and enjoyable experience of it could change a lot for both Aether and Fabric in general
- A20:33Let em sit in their project that they'll never finish
- C
- D
- A
- C
- A20:34But yeah, Aether 2 is just not happening
- C
- A20:35Even the betweenlands has its place, it fits into mc. But the Aether 2 felt like it should have been its own game
- CI mean it could have been pulled off, but I'd say too many mistakes were made and not enough developers onto it anymore20:37Aether Legacy originally was also a different story, since before Gilded yanked it, it was being developed on almost daily, on 1.12.2, 1.14.4, a Universal Jar project in process as well (Which allowed usage of 1.7 - 1.12.2 Aether Legacy in a single jar), and the GOTV project too(edited)
- A
- CI see Modding as two generalized sides: You can do things for fun and for the community, inspiring others to follow you Or you can run it as a corporation, only looking out for the profit and monetary and fame of it all20:38And I definitly see Gilded as a corporation on a sinking ship without a leader

- CAzzy, do you happen to have gitlab? I have a feeling you'd have a hoot over some of Kino's intresting coding in this As for me coding on this project, I might be intrested, though I already explained what I'd do first if i were (Which was to merge in Kino's existing logic, except for the broken pieces, which would be reimplemented, to cut down how much initial work is needed before rewrites)
- A
- C20:46But yeah, if i find time this week, I could whip up some prs to merge parts of kinos code I worked with in that would for certain work(edited)
