- A03:10This would be the perfect time to use it03:17Linux users really do be like "oh you don't need windows only software you can use these whole clusterfuck of programs made by different teams (god forbid any one of them did more than one thing, that would go against daddy Linus' (or shall I say GNU/Linus 🤣🤣🤣) philosophies, and that would make you no better than a microtard) which are only half compatible with each other, all you need to do is modify 20 config files, write a 200 line bash script that is run on boot and will brick your whole system if you get one thing wrong, install this compat layer that is actually an emulator but is actually a toolchain for piss and shit called pear, don't question why it is named after a fruit (god forbid key system components have intuitive and sensible names) and also ignore the fact that it was last updated in 2002, oh and it may be missing a few features but don't worry those are stupidly niche and nobody uses them (the stupid niche features are exactly why people use them)".(edited)03:18@Solly @Jack Papel @gudenau @Larry Cable Guy you better not leave me hanging here I used up 3 braincells writing this

- LThe main reason I dont want to bother with linux personally is a lot of programs I need to use don't work with it without lots of finagling and I'm not in a place to use the alternatives people make03:22for example having to use solidworks last semester, which does not have actual linux support03:23macos users are worse by far tho

- S03:35You can run the latest versions of ms office if you want, I just don't know why you would; libreoffice is genuinely superior(edited)

Replying toSollyHave you ever tried it?
I opened libreoffice word once and it didn't look exactly like Microsoft word and I gave up04:44Also it would make more sense to make a new public artisanry channel rather than make the private one public, like we've done with the other mods - A

- A04:47Our pool of active discord members is fairly small, and having so many niche channels only spreads it out thin
- J
- A04:48The only thing they are really doing right now is making the sidebar more cluttered and making the discord more intimidating for anyone coming in looking for help or to chill

- A04:50Lots of channels that are too niche to really be used and create noise
- J04:51We can ax tech talk and art talk since great lounge is fine for that

Replying toSollyYou could also combine concept art and showcase, and remove their discussion channels
I am not combining concept art and showcase
04:51Their discussion channels can be combined, but not their show channels
- J04:53Dnd isn't used that much either

- JTech talk might as well just be #mod-dev-talk #204:55And art talk has just been used like concept talk and showcase
- A04:55Art talk has barely been used at all

- JIn total, I think the revised layout could be something like: Discussion: #great-lounge #mod-dev-talk #unknown #unknown #tech-support 🔊tech-support Lounge: #unknown #unknown #unknown #gaming 🔊Gmaing Mods: #paradise-lost #unknown #unknown #unknown ? (No clue what this is) #unknown05:05Maybe with better group names. Lounge and discussion are really similar05:05And discussion is kind of a lame name05:05Oh but mods should be above lounge05:08Or maybe have #mod-dev-talk in the Mods category
- A05:48hn05:48hm05:48I would say05:48developers should be in lunge05:48discussion should have a... well, discussion channel05:48for showcase and concept art05:48gaming should be called gameing05:49and webhooks should be either in lounge or discussion05:49Actually05:49webhooks can stay in mods05:49maybe having a libraries channel would be good, since eg: #unknown doesn't really demand being its own thing but could still use a corner

I was thinking this could be used for #mod-dev-talk, being a bit behind-the-scenes(edited)18:48I think that having a channel named #mod-dev-talk in lounge would be pretty confusing, since people might think that's where they should ask questions18:49Whereas if developers is in mods it makes perfect sense - JOh wait I just reread my message and apparently I put #mod-dev-talk in Discussion. Not sure why I did that. I think it should go in mods
