- N12:52I probably would
- K12:53We were supposed to hold hands when we were going out of the building
- N12:55Maybe "touching" people in Poland means something different than it does in america

- Kcatching up on chat cos I've been away but yeah while I think GotVs main issues were just a lack of coherent/consistent design outline going into it. The critiques you laid out there still ring somewhat true to me. It wasn't all bad ideas which is why a lot of it is still being carried over into Aether II but yeah it was largely a misstep. Though I will say the Dungeon loot structure actually accidentally created a near infinite gameplay loop that sustained a large multiplayer server for a couple years. Which was unexpected and unintended but yeah turns out a lot of people enjoyed the grind for some reason.

Replying toCDAGamingOrbis kinda fell flat on it's face after the intial hype died down
And yeah Orbis was a fantastic project with some really exciting tech behind it (and I believe Brandon's work on it was partially what got his foot in the door at Mojang) but after Brandon stopped being able to contribute to development to finish it it largely just fell apart as a project as we had no real documentation or resources as a team to continue/finish his work. Orbis to this day does not have its core concept implemented, which was a front end procedural generation GUI suite. I got to toy around with glimpses of it for my work on Aether IIs structures but yeah the full toolset was never finished or functional. And we are dumping it for the 1.16+ repo in favour of more finished and well documented toolsets13:40basically in the perfect world where our most experiences engineers didn't immediately get jobs or have exams during crucial points in development, Orbis could've been great and helped propel Aether II to some level of completion by now. But yeah life happens and those engineers moved on to more important stuff.13:44soz ik the topic was dropped days ago but figured I had some insight lol - C

Wouldn't a near infinite gameplay look be good for a game like Minecraft? - C

orbis is fucking cool13:53it's like worldedit 2 - KI describe it that way but it was honestly just the dungeon being relatively quick to grind out with friends while also having an insanely balanced loot pool so you could very easily sink hours into grinding specific items13:53it wasnt good content13:53it was just accidentally addictive13:53haha13:54and yeah Orbis was really cool just not something my current team has the knowledge and skillset to work on13:54some contributers broke aspects of it pretty badly and it's API implementation in Aether II has busted almost every aspect of development lol

- CYeah I love the gamemode switcher so much that sometimes I instinctively press the keybinding for in versions it wasn't in and then realize that it wasn't added yet and get disappointed13:57It's so useful
