This crash is intentional. This is because of a bug in vanilla Minecraft that caused Paradise Lost to be unable to add the Aether dimension.

You can pop it into your mods folder

That won't actually fix the cause of the crash but it should let you bypass it
It will have a different error message with instructions how to get around it

do you have any idea where we’d find the “server arguments file” on that website, i know that’s not your specific field but we can’t find it

It might be a text input field that says "JVM arguments", or something

I recommend updating to 1.18.2, where our mod doesn't have this issue, or wait for an update from us that fixes it
Alternatively you can disable our mod, which will also fix the problem

we might have to do that 😦 we're using a mod pack on the curseforge app which we cant remove the mod from, if its only client side will that effect anything or will the mod just not have any effect in game

It should really be removed from both server and client if you want to do that. If you remove it from just the server it might work, though

The bloom thing is something on our end
But considering how it is never used, and is running, and is a shader, it is something that probably should not be running
Unless it verifiably doesn't impact a benchmark
