hey i am trying to load lost paradise on 1.18.1 and every time i load into a new world with the aether the landscape is just ridden with trees :/ like no surface area without trees, anyone know what could be causing this issue ?

That sounds like a thicket biome
We intend to change the sizes and placements of biomes in future updates, because we have had issues with those being too large before
If you explore far enough, you'll find other biomes
