So, I know you guys work very hard on the mod and have had for a long time. Having been stuck between keeping my own main modpack in 1.20 or jumping to 1.21, I'm curious on just one thing: why will some of the newer additions to PL in 1.21 not be included in 1.20, as well? I feel like it could heavily benefit from the wonderful changes and additions that were made in 1.21 in 1.20. If it's a coding or other sort of issue I completely understand. I'm just curious.

so many of the changes could technically be backported, but the NBT <-> Component Data on items would need to be re-written which is possible just annoying. The big reason that many of the features were not back ported was the structure changes made in 1.21; notably to increase the size of jigsaw structure extents and single piece sizes (used by the Birdcage structure which also uses Trial Spawners from 1.21), and 1.21 added the encapsulate structure option which ensures that a structure is fully enclosed and buried (added for the Trial Chambers, used by PL's Vaults). There were also some fabric api/under the hood changes that we take advantage of that were added in 1.21 but I can't list them off the top of my head.

It makes sense. Honestly, the main takeaways for me were terrain generation and variation, as well as some of the other minor changes. Larger stuff like loot pools and structures make complete sense.

Sure! The bad news I will bear right now is I think it is highly unlikely to do a partial backport at this time due to the time commitment and the fact I'm the only real dev for PL right now... We're working on a new project and PL will be on a little hiatus while we wait for our dependencies to upgrade and then PL will get ported up (rather than ported down :sadcat: )

I'm an absolute beginner in the matter but if I can help, I will try 😅
