Oh, just plain ticks
Think of a furnace but instead of getting baked potatoes you get giant birds
Warmer biomes speed the process up, but even in the middle of a tundra they will hatch

tbf the wavy portal block was from Aether II, the original mod used a static water texture. We literally only just changed Aether 1 to even have an animated portal block the other day for the rewrite 😂

afaik modded animated blocks weren't actually possible back then?
at least not with the tools the Aether was using

We have fairly solid plans, and we do reveal incoming stuff from time to time

But we don't have public roadmaps, we have collectively agreed that it is best to work without a set of 'promises' to bind us
