- AWell it does make sense, if you are going to launch a portable console that runs on linux you are going to want everything to work02:58Good stuff for me

- A
Replying toKatiestill interesting to go back to Linux after so many years
Oh, you used to use it? - K02:59wasn't a fan π but it was useful for the server stuff we worked on

- K03:00was planning on going into cybernetics and prosthetics as a career03:00so did physics, biology, mathematics and computer science03:00didn't go so well cos Im thick as shit03:01though this was after I was put off art education (my original planned career path)03:01which I ended up coming back to cos it obviously suits me way better

Replying toKatiedidn't go so well cos Im thick as shit
I am going to take this in the obviously intended way - K
- A03:02I am not sure if I've told before, but I was originally going to study comp sci03:02I ended up deciding to switch over to illustration right before starting cool leg03:04I think it was the right choice, though it is of course early to tell; programming is nice and I am quite a lot better at it than what jokes I make may indicate, but there is a certain joy in creation that I can't quite find elsewhere.
- Ksee Ive just flip flopped between over the years π I started with academia but ended up doing best in the arts, then switched to science and tech after my art teachers were assholes, then switched back after I flunked out of the science stuff hard (wasn't really my fault our school was going through some shit and almost all of us failed) then did art for two years before pivoting to media and tech again for my final year of college03:04π03:04I also did critical thinking, creative writing and literature study in between somewhere
- A03:05Truly, you were as close to the stereotypical college student as one can get in that regard

- Kwhich I ended up not really bothering following up on cos my tutors assured me I could get in anywhere with my portfolio03:07but yeah at that point everything I was going through was undiagnosed so I was basically going through a massive amount of injuries and fatigue and just being like "man I feel tired all the time"03:07π

- K03:08cos it did feel more like box ticking than actual like03:08skill development03:09I did my final project on cyberpunk and transhumanism and did this fuckin rad 3D poster piece for it03:09and my tutors just didn't get it at all? so I didn't do particularly well03:09oh shit yeah its like right next to me I can show it lol

- AI will admit, and this may be a bit silly given my previous comments on your work, but you have become quite the inspiration for me.03:13Seeing your artwork really does make me want to improve and refine my stuff.

- K03:14like they find it quite striking, which is cool03:14I like that03:15but it is just because Ive got a mix of quite weird inspirations03:15lmao03:15two biggest inspirations being Joe Mad (Marvel comics, Darksiders games, cool shit) and Yoji Shinkawa (long time collaborator with Hideo Kojima for Metal Gear, Zone of the Enders, Death Stranding)03:16those two artists' illustration work is like the backbone of how I approach 2D art
- AAgain, big mood. You could probably trace back my current style to a whole bunch of things.03:19You could probably fish out bits of adventure time which... I am not entirely sure who you would attribute that style to, notyoursagittarius which @cr24 can tell you about, and a handful of nsfw artists which should not be surprising given my title as local
artist.03:20+ a sprinkling of funkiness from the fact that I use a very specific set of brushes on my art03:20Which is to say I use shale brush for literally everything if you know it - R
- JUnfortunately not, but GildedGames is working on a forge version of The Aether(edited)18:53See #unknown for a link to their discord
- R18:54Thanks
