what's modrinth's deal anyways
why use it over curseforge
AzzyypaarasTeam04:21
Well it is OSS
...and that is about it
As for cons, one of the quilt devs openly said he considers their dev team incompetent
Which... I may or may not agree with a teeny tiny bit
Monozari04:25
what's OSS

What? Who? At least one of our team members is on the Modrinth team 🙃
AzzyypaarasTeam04:26
Applethegolden iirc, wasn't he part of the quilt team?
Haven King04:26
Yes, and the Modrinth team lol
Monozari04:27
what the hell is OSS
Haven King04:27
Open Source Software
AzzyypaarasTeam04:28
A modder's favorite genre of porn
Monozari04:29
huh
AzzyypaarasTeam04:29
OSS is rather relevant round here since there is a 50/50 chance you'll get lynched if your mod ain't that
Monozari04:29
I thought a modder's favorite genre of porn was the minecraft sex mod
AzzyypaarasTeam04:29
Solly is a living example of that

Depends, some's favorite genre is actually major updates, though those tend to be into bdsm

Possible bug i may have found
if you return a ghast fireball with a gravitite sword
they will still get launched in the air
dont know if its intended or not but its funny watching a ghast corpse go flying
SollyTeam07:06
@Ender I believe attacking a fireball sets you as the owner, right?
Ender07:06
i think so
SollyTeam07:06
In which case the same thing applies for vanilla effects, such as looting
Ender07:07
oh
that i didnt know
SollyTeam07:07
Same as how shooting a bow from your offhand with a looting sword in your main hand gives the arrow looting

because cf is kinda mediocre ux/ui wise though modders can’t really benefit from using modrinth yet so it’s kinda 50/50

I will use modrinth when it is actually a half promising competitor to CF
FoundationGames07:25
they are making a modpack launcher/mod manager now
i think it’s called thesaurus or something

I use modrinth because it doesn't try to make you wait 5 seconds for absolutely no reason on every download(edited)
FoundationGames07:25
yes it has nice search
ah
that too ig(edited)

cf is neat tho
aside from the searching
if only a perfect mod site existed

And the UI is much better
kalucky0Team13:31
Pros: it doesn't use Wordpress Cons: so does CF

what version of frabric do i need?, cuz my game keeps crashing
Jack PapelTeam17:29
Afaik Aether for 1.17.1 works with any 1.17.1 version of fabric(edited)
cr24Team17:31
do you have a crash report?
Deleted User17:35
yes lemme grab it rq
it wont show a crash report
but what happens is when loading the squares fills up but the percentage stays at 0
then when i force the game to close it shows crash and it says error 0
Jack PapelTeam17:41
can you send your latest.log?
Deleted User17:43
yes
crash-2021-07-28_13.16.56-server.txtText file, 13 KB. Not stored in the archive.
to add i only have the mods that are required to run aether
cr24Team17:46
oh you are on 1.16.5?
use fabric api 0.33.x or lower
you are using 0.37.1
I would encourage you to update to using 1.17.1 fabric with the current 1.17.1 aether since there are more features and less bugs
