It stands for Trusted Platform Module, it comes in a few different forms. Win11 requires version 2.0 but you can get away with version 1.2

Mmm maybe not
A TPM is used for encryption and some other security purposes. If you plan on dual booting, you might want to make sure you are using separate drives. Linux can also use a tpm i believe.
Its nothing scary, or that new, my laptops are just super old. They really help with keeping your computer secure.
