- SHi, I'm a CS student and I'd love to try and contribute. I poked around the GitHub and saw that the priority task right now is getting the mobs done. Is there a specific IDE you guys use that allows you to easily test out the mob you make and how it behaves, or do you have to build the whole mod every time and restart minecraft with the mod?(edited)

Ah, in the case of mobs and such code heavy things you are likely to require building the mod to test changes - S

I've never seen Minecraft load that fast, let alone compile and run - SI've uniquely been learning Java in school but never looked at modding, so I have some vague idea as to how these things work, but I don't really know where to start as far as implementing one of the mobs on the to-do(edited)17:50I'm trying to understand the Aerbunny since that's the working one and work backwards from that

But tbf you're using Linux. My OS compiles in 5 seconds on Windows and in 50 ms on Ubuntu - S18:29I think I understand the class structure of a mob now, mob x will have xEntity, which will be specified in AetherEntityTypes; xModel which is specified in AetherModelLayers; xRenderer which is specified in AetherEntityRenderers
