im so disgusted with the official minecraft server staff
there was a user in one of their active chats who seems to be a regular, and every time someone new came into chat with ANYTHING to say, this regular would be a gigantic asshole
first it was me, i sent a minecraft pantheon i worked on for a server of my friends and i, and he started ragebaiting me and said 'i aint reading allat'
then someone came in and asked a survival question in the survival chat, and he goes 'you know google exists right?'
so after this happens to like 5 people, I ping the moderators
and I've had this rodeo before, with abusive mods protecting regulars
so I ask straight up "Are you going to protect this guy? He's being a total chathog and disrespecting and making everyone uncomfortable."
and you know what they do? They wipe chat up to RIGHT BEFORE I sent my Pantheon, and they don't punish the guy
and I'm like 'tf was that'
and they're like "it will be dealt with, there's a process" or some BS
I know it's BS because I've helped run a server like that before, and they banned ME pretty damn quickly
so I send the pantheon AGAIN
and the guy does it again
both messages get deleted (why not just his ragebaiting?) and he still goes unpunished
and as i'm reacting like 'you're not going to punish this guy?', he keeps taunting me
they tell me to drop it, they use big scawy language like 'last warning'
and they literally send me a warning with their moderation bot
and this is the moment I snap
at this point, I've come into the MC server on like 5 separate occasions and had something longer than 5 words to say
and some moron comes in to say 'i aint reading allat'
and it makes my blood BOIL
i always respond 'ok so dont read it, why do you have to announce it'
'someone else will appreciate it' i say
anyway...............
finally, I snap
and I send this in the server
I saw you people gave me a warning. Let me set the record straight. I am not a misbehaving user you're going to whip into line, I am a disappointed adult criticizing this community. Kick me out if it makes you feel better, but the problem I'm making a scene over is going to continue without me. This is the fourth or fifth time I've come into the Minecraft Discord and sent a message, only to have someone make fun of me and make me feel like shit saying "I don't wanna read allat" I don't want this to keep happening, you can't protect users like that and make them feel invincible. If I have one more experience like this in the future, me and all my friends will be leaving the server. They'll be aware of what happened. If that's the kind of community you're proud to serve, feel free to kick me out, I'm too good for it anyway. This is a very simple warning. Deal with the problem and make the community a safer place or I'm not going to interact there, and I will turn people away in the future by sharing my personal experiences. I really do not want it to come to this point, but I see no other way to bring this to your attention and you honestly poked the bear by trying to slap me on the wrist. This situation is the last straw for me, putting it bluntly. Thank you, and I hope you can find a solution, even if it "takes a while" to do these things like you said (though I bet my ban for this will be pretty instant.) And that is how you warn someone before something unnecessary and unfortunate happens. Feel free to boot me for 'insubordination', but I'm probably the only person who will ever bother to bring this problem to moderator attention instead of just rolling our eyes and leaving. Bye now.
and then ofc I get banned, but not without them sending me a whiny loveletter through their moderation bot about how i need to respect their staff and that they know best(edited)
god i hate power abuse
nothing is more of a pet peeve for me than people who don't deserve any amount of control or power somehow finding it on the internet
whatever, good riddance, i told my buds what happened and one of them already left its just a shame, because i warned them it didnt need to happen like this and this outcome is just unfortunate, but at the same time it just seems like the community is a braindead garbage dump that is not worth it, that's my impression(edited)
