I'm level 180 on hypixel with only like two boosters used
and I was in almost every top guild atleast once
I used to despise 1.9 pvp
but it really just.. makes more sense
1.8 pvp is fun if you know what you're doing but they're both easy to learn, hard to master
there really should've been a gamerule to toggle attack delay or something in 1.9(edited)
1.9 pvp is much more welcoming though
the people who hate 1.9 pvp the most have never tried it without going into it already thinking it'll suck

i think pvp is way way way way way less of a design concern for mojang than pve and 1.9 pve is unequivocally superior

I literally only started playing 1.9 pvp when mods started to come out for whichever version first became popular for modding

our 1.19.2 modpacks have 400k downloads combined on the latest updates, about 9 million downloads in total(edited)
all of those new updates were released in the last month or two

the only popular 1.15.2 modpacks revolve around mine and slash
i only know of one popular one
1.8 has no modding community except for the very large community around PvP mods(edited)
5zig, labymod, lunar, badlion, all of sk1ers mods
there's like 70 hypixel skyblock mods
1.9, 1.10 and 1.11 have no big modpacks or exclusive mods afaik
1.17 and 1.18 are pretty dead
1.18 fabric has some traction, 1.18 forge is okay but a lot of modders abandoned it completely(edited)
