    fakeroot permissions are taken away without doing a bit of tinkering and anything you install there is deleted from a new update

    At the moment, they haven't pushed anything malicious as far as I can tell, but its better to be safe in this situation, considering what git allows (IE you can rewrite a commit history in repositories as an example)
