That one on the left there looks like bamboo, is that correct? Maybe it uses a different naming scheme than the rest

it's not bamboo, it's a Palo Verde Log from BYG
  5. Jack PapelTeam

    Oh gotcha
  6. meme_man_not_ava

I get why you'd think bamboo though
  7. Jack PapelTeam

Honestly I think your life would be much easier if you used the block model json instead of all this context-specific code(edited)
  8. SweepSwap

    wow
  9. meme_man_not_ava

6 JSON files per crop: - 1. Crop Blockstate - 2. Crop Model - 3. Crop Item Model(aka Seeds) - 4. Essence Item Model - 5. Recipe for the Seeds - 6. Recipe for <something> made with the essence from this crop
  10. Jack PapelTeam

I don't think you should do it manually either
  11. meme_man_not_ava

anyhow what actually happens is this. The red area is supposed to detect that the specified resource texture ends with "side", which SHOULD mean it "catches" the aether crops and registers them differently by removing "side" from the specified resource texture and adds the word "top" to it. However after some testing I realized that for some reason they aren't "caught" by the if statement and move straight into the else, but why? But that only adds "_top" to the specified resource texture which is why the aether crops end up having missing top textures.

*Note: It doesn't do this right now because I forgot to add that back(edited)

thank you for telling me this

hopefully this will do the trick

this might sound dumb, but anyone knows good fabric ambient mod that add also sword swing sound?
  17. Jack PapelTeam

Amely if that doesn't work, try using .equals() when comparing strings. I'm pretty sure that's why the if statement isn't working
  18. Jack PapelTeam

Replying tomeme_man_not_avahopefully this will do the trick

    Did you get things working?
  19. meme_man_not_ava

    still didn't work
  20. Jack PapelTeam

    If it works 🤷‍♂️
  21. meme_man_not_ava

should probably only do so if there's an advantage to it for your own mod
  22. Jack PapelTeam

    Gotcha
  23. meme_man_not_ava

I'd check if a mod with the id "the_aether" was loaded but I registered my crops as resourcecrops:crop_aether/<material_name>(edited)
  24. Jack PapelTeam

Pertaining to what you said before, about why you're finding the textures instead of using the block model .jsons, you said that it'd be a lot of manual work, but I don't think any manual work would be required at all for getting the textures from the block models. Of course, I don't want to try to influence you into doing something you don't want. I just don't quite understand(edited)
  25. meme_man_not_ava

    I have a very simple reason(edited)
  26. Jack PapelTeam

    Oh
  27. meme_man_not_ava

besides what would be the point, if some mod decides to name their log_side material side_log whilst everyone else names it log_side then I'll end up in the same situation where I have to make certain exceptions for a specific mod
  28. Jack PapelTeam

    I don't think so
  29. meme_man_not_ava

    :ThonkGlitch:
  30. Jack PapelTeam

As long as they call the blockstate [something]_log
  31. meme_man_not_ava

but it's the BlockModel I need to pull from?
  32. Jack PapelTeam

Or sorry block model not block state
  33. meme_man_not_ava

Is there a function to pull this from block models or would I need to make a block model JSON Serializer+De-Serializer?
  34. Jack PapelTeam

    No clue tbh
  35. Jack PapelTeam

I'm sure you can import something that does that for you
  36. meme_man_not_ava

    true
  37. Jack PapelTeam

    Alright
  38. meme_man_not_ava

Since it's stable-ish now it's more important to push out a new release so I can give people something new to play with whilst I work on the next update
  39. Jack PapelTeam

    Makes sense
  40. meme_man_not_ava

Also need to work on updating the growth stages as they're still based on the old crop model

    Haha bbq chicken seeds
  42. meme_man_not_ava

could've called it cooked chicken but that's no fun
  43. Jack PapelTeam

Oh you even implemented jeb wool blocks
  44. meme_man_not_ava

Not sure if the speed is the same but at least the order of colors is correct
  45. Jack PapelTeam

Oh I have a meeting in 4 minutes. Your mod seems pretty interesting though
  46. meme_man_not_ava

It's just a resource automation mod, but I try to add as many jokes or neat recipes and references as possible without making the entire mod itself a complete joke
