Replying toJack PapelTry printing the constructed string to the console to see what's going on

the thing is that there's nothing wrong with my substring: Input string is: "skyroot_log_side" the hasSide variable is a substring off the last 4 characters of the input string, so if hasSide equals "side" then it knows that it ends with "side". this works as you can see from the screenshot. Then I have removeSideFromNameAndAddTopToTheName which is only such a long name so that you know what it does, this is a substring of the entire input string EXCEPT for the last 4 letters and then has "top" added at the end. This ALSO works as you can see from the screenshot. Yet the game still thinks I'm referring to "skyroot_log_side_top"

The only thing I can think of is that you're using the wrong variable? I really don't know. It's probably a better idea to pull from the model anyway for better future compatibility

The json model has the names of all the textures of any side of any block. Seems like it'd be useful
