    I wonder if there's a way to alter gravity in minecraft, not the way how space mods do it, no actually changing the direction of gravity around certain areas similar to Mario Galaxy

    My baseline knowledge of coding is making me shrink in on myself in fear of how that might work. But the concept sounds INCREDIBLY cool and I'm sad that minecraft's engine probably can't support it, now.

    So there’s a huge issue with modifying gravity in games, and that’s the player hitbox In mario galaxy, your hitbox is a perfect sphere. This is to prevent you clipping into things as gravity changes. In minecraft, you are a rectangular prism, which could cause you to clip into things as gravity changes. Even if you made gravity axis aligned (not diagonal) which is quite easy with minecraft imo, you’d need to be a cube in order to not randomly have your head stuck in stuff But I really do like the idea

    And I suppose changing the hitbox to a sphere is impossible/darn hard to do?

    Its possible but it would be weird

    Now I don't think minecraft's gravity should be exactly like galaxy, but only 6 directions instead of an entire sphere. basically walking around on all sides of a cube is what I mean, you'd just SNAP to the next gravity zone when moving closer to a face with a different gravitational pull

    It's all possible

    @FoundationGames https://www.curseforge.com/minecraft/mc-mods/up-and-down-and-all-around I found this but it's for Forge 1.12.2

    Interesting

    How would you even do upside-down Aether islands even if gravity wasn't a problem, would you literally add a blockstate for grass if it's placed upside down or would you just go the lazy way and add a grass block with textures which are flipped upside down

    Freaking R.I.P.
