NODATS/CAROTS 1.18 Status + 0.6 Status Update
Brief reminder, but the NODATS server will be undergoing a world and player reset for 1.18 (IE Clean slated)
While 1.18 does allow for older worlds, NODATS' current world has been using the experimental snapshot worldgen, which at this point has changed to the point where the older and newer chunks won't make for as seamless of a transition. Furthermore, significant updates have been made to the Aether over time, in prep for the 0.6 release, in which older and newer chunks also are not as seamless as desired for the transition.
In the spirit of not having this turn into a new game+ type deal,
I've opted to both blank slate player and world data for a fresh experience, both for the 0.6 release and 1.18s global release date.
As for 0.6s release:
As we've stated before in some of the channels here, Our 0.6 release is not slated to be released until just before 1.18.
We will however, due to this, be making 0.6 available on both 1.17 and 1.18 (Which provided we are on time, shouldn't be of any issue).
A precise changelog for the changes in 0.6 has not currently finished drafting yet, as we are still placing the finishing touches towards the release, though the size of the changes will likely be comparable (or greater) then 0.5s.
As another confirmation, despite our initial promise to you all, 0.6 will not feature any dungeons but will contain partial preliminary work towards creating and designing them. Due to everyone's schedules and other obligations, things were pushed back in that area, but due to 1.18 giving us more creative freedom, our hope, at this time, is to have dungeons ready by 0.8s release, subject to change as needed
Hopefully @everyone enjoys these updates, and on behalf of the team we do apologize for not having these dungeons done sooner, but we're hoping that the delay + 1.18 will make them worth the wait for you all 😄
