- CHello @everyone, It's announcement time as we march into February! First and foremost, thank you all for your continued patience over the 1.18.x port. While this port is coming along later then we originally anticipated, several breakthroughs and changes have been made throughout the project to both address some user complaints as well as additional quality-of-life features Some of these have included: - Seedy Behavior now being included in Incubus Core (For developers,
seed: 0is now permanently resolved and built in-house w/ @gudenau serving as the new maintainer alongside the rest of ImmortalDevs, as necessary) - Several worldgen changes have been made to address concerns over islands being too far apart and to increase diversity among the different biomes - AColoredSplashParticlefactory, allowing the RGB-colorization of both Swet and Aercloud particles (Any RGB color code works with the current prototype) For worldgen in specific, understandably many of you may be concerned that your worlds may not have as smooth of a transition as you had expected. Given the changes mojang made to worldgen, we found it more difficult then expected to produce a perfect 1:1 copy of 1.17s generation, but chose to take this negative into a positive by introducing some of our planned changes early. Do rest assured, that your old worlds will continue to work fine in 1.18s 1.6.x port up until 1.7.x 😄 (When more full-scale changes are planned in addition to the Aether Reborn -> Paradise Lost rebranding) To aid in the migration, however, an audit has been conducted over the 1.18.x branch, and the following changes will be backported into the upcoming b1.6.4 release for 1.17.x (Which will release alongside it's 1.18.x counterpart, when it is ready): - Minor Patches to symbolize more of the Aether Reborn -> Paradise Lost rebranding - Minor adjustments and patches to cloud rendering - Patches to allow Quicksoil + Aether Grass to have proper bonemeal events (IE no longer place regular tallgrass) - Resolution of a minor issue that can causeSpreadableBlock#randomTickto perform incorrectly - The/condition clearcommand will now state individual clear logs (IE clearing a specific player's conditions will show appropriately) - Added several missing language lines for Flax + Biome names - Added Support for adding to the custom superflat Preset menu (For b1.6.x, this is just going to add a sandbox-esque preset; b1.7.x may add more) - Implementing the aforementionedColoredSplashParticlesystem, to allow for coloring swet particles This list is currently subject to change, and the backport is being done solely on my behalf while the rest of the team remains focused on the 1.18.x port. These backport changes were determined based on simplicity, easing migration efforts, and preventing any breaking changes. Our goal, is and has always been, to ensure a rapid adoption of this upcoming b1.6.x release, as it will most likely be one of the last releases before we continue to b1.7.x builds for 1.18.x. While we can be certain that b1.6.4 for 1.17.x WILL be compatible for the b1.6.3.x releases AND with the b1.6.4 1.18.x build, we cannot make that guarantee for future builds. Given that, the optimal upgrade path will be (once b1.7.x arrives): b1.6.3.x (Dot revisions in b1.6.3 had minimal effect on compatibility) -> b1.6.4 (Jumping from 1.17 to 1.18 here) -> b1.7 and onwards This is all the news I have for you all currently, but please be sure to ask any questions and we would be more then happy to respond to the best of our ability! And once more, Thank you all for your continued patience! As for an ETA, this decision remains up to the rest of the team, though as it stands there are NO further blocking issues preventing a release, at time of writing(edited)- 👍2
